The economic upswing is promising for small businesses. But that doesn’t mean you can ignore the trend of video content. This method of marketing is rapidly growing because anyone with access to the Internet, a webcam and a computer can upload videos for free. Plus, 90 percent of online shoppers report that they find videos helpful as they make buying decisions, and the retailers say they sell a lot more of their products with video. We’ve found some simple video creation tips to help you market your business and get more visits to your website:
Use SEO.
When you categorize your video, don’t forget to use keywords specific to your industry. Make sure they’re in your script also. As people use the search engines, they’ll type in these words. You want your video to rank high in the search engines, and SEO is the way to make that happen.
Show Off Your Knowledge.
The use of video is a way to demonstrate your expertise, which strengthens your credibility with online viewers. Let people know what you know and take advantage of the ways video can engage your viewers. Videos market your business and build trust and credibility.
Be Clear and Concise.
With all types of content, it’s important to be compelling and clear. Videos will hold viewers’ attention if they define the subject, don’t veer from the topic and don’t ramble. Tell your viewers why this video benefits them, answer their questions and solve their problems.
Use Existing Content.
If you don’t have someone available to create fresh content specific to the videos you’re creating, don’t worry. Repurpose existing content such as newspaper articles, eBooks or even website content. Keep your videos simple as you start and wait until you have experience before trying things that are outside of your comfort zone.
Think Outside the Box.
No creative bones in your body? That’s okay! Get ideas from your friends and colleagues. See what your competition is up to these days. Even have your employees act out a skit that shows off the topic you’re trying to teach your viewers about. Resourceful videos tend to score more visits, so stretching yourself a little is worth it.
Review.
Your video isn’t going to be perfect on your very first try. Don’t fret about it, but please edit out the mistakes so your viewers don’t have to watch them (because unfortunately, they probably won’t). Enlist numerous people to watch the video before making it live on your website. Other sets of eyes to critique it are priceless and help you assess the effectiveness of your labors while also catching errors.
The benefits of corporate video are vast, making video content reign as king and showing that this method of marketing has a bright future. As technology is continually developed specifically for its use, consumers will turn to video as they make their purchasing decisions.
